The Domaine of the Hospices de Nuits was founded in 1270, even before than the one in Beaune. Same concept as the Hopsices de Beaune, this philanthropic and charitable organisation received donations of vineyards, given by rich local families in order to ensure its survival. The Domaine is smaller than the Hospices de Beaune with 12.5 hectares of Nuits St Georges village, 1ier Cru and Gevrey Chambertin. Barrels will be sold during an auction, on the 3rd Sunday of March, at the prestigious Chateau du Clos Vougeot. Buying barrels at the Hospices means participating in a cause for charity which leads to philanthropy, exceptional wines, art of living and culture in a very unique way.

One B Wine is buying every year at the auction. Jean Marc Moron (trained by Roland Masse) is heading the Domaine of Hospices de Nuits to make fabulous wines. When you buy barrels at the auction, wines are very young (as the harvest took place only few months prior to the auction). After the auction, you need a 'negotiant' (in our case, my dad who is doing this since more than 35 years) to age your barrels as a real professional and expert to be able to reveal the full potential of those beautiful appellations. So, during 16 to 18 months, my family will make sure that we respect terroirs, nuances, complexities of wines.
Should be served between 16 to 16 degree
This wine will perfect with a slow cooked lamb shank (7hours) or a pork tendreloin with a cream mustard sauce.
