Denis Mortet was one of the most important and influential domaines in the 20th century with a real ‘cult’ status. Indeed, Denis was a great friend and mentored by Henri Jayer. He also had a chance to learn from Lalou Bize-Leroy from Domaine Leroy and Romanée-Conti. Now you understand why this Domaine makes fabulous wine bottles! Denis’ son, Arnaud, worked with him since 1999 and took over the domaine in 2006. Brilliant fruit-driven wines that are bordering on the supernatural. All Mortet wines can be recognised by their velvety structure and their elegance!
France - Burgundy - Cote de Nuits
The nose has a well-defined blackberry and wild strawberry with subtle rose aromas. The palate is well balanced with supple red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit. Beautiful structure for a Village, long finish on the mouth.

Arnaud keeps the yields very low, uses gentle macerations and a small percentage of new oak barrels. He sorts his fruits 3 times to make sure that all his grapes are perfect. Wines are matured on fine lees with just a single racking before bottling. Therefore, the fruit is full-flavoured and fresh with round tannins.
Should be served between 15 to 16 degrees.
Lobster pasta, osso bucco, roast beef, and meat stews. Cheese: Camembert, brie, reblochon, Tomme de Savoie.
